Hello Bears,
There is lots going on behind the scenes including recruiting, setting up new
coaching and committee structures and organising the coming AGM. Some of these
changes will be announced very shortly.
Part of my role is to plan and coordinate a pre season schedule that enables
everyone a chance to participate. Attached you will find the pre season schedule
that is spread over 3 different locations in Camberwell, Kew, and Blackburn and in
total 18 sessions before we play our first game. I have booked alternative times and
dates where possible to allow those that train for footy and soccer on Tuesdays or
Thursdays an opportunity to attend these sessions.

Securing the same times and bookings can be a logistical nightmare so please take
note of venue and time changes on the attached schedule. This schedule will be
posted on the Bears website as well.
For cricket training wear a white shirt or the angry bear shirt and Deepy Bear shorts.
JULY
For the 4 spinning classes in July I want to see everyone that is aspiring to play
in the top 2 teams attend these sessions. If you are a person that does their own
fitness then talk to me and we can work out an alternative arrangement but these
sessions are great for getting the group together and building some team unity.
These sessions are early at 6.pm so everyone can complete them and still have time
to get home to watch Home and Away :--).
AUGUST
During August you will notice we are starting off with 1 session per week only at
Maddocks Sports in Blackburn. I realise Blackburn might be some distance for those
that live in Boroondara however the Maddocks nets have full run ups and the added
bonus of access to a bowling machine.
SEPTEMBER
During September we will be building up towards the first game of the year and
prepare with 2 indoor midweek sessions. Maddocks on a Monday and Xavier College on
a Wednesday. The last couple of years the weekend sessions haven't been well
attended so I have decided that the extra indoor session is what the majority have
voted for.
We are currently working on details to play a practice match in September and hoping
to play a day/night game under lights. Stay tuned for more info on this.
I am looking for someone to help me out as pre season net captain. David Goof
normally does a great job with this and would appreciate anyone that can give me a
chop out in this role. If you are reasonably well organised and happy to coordinate
batting partnerships and bowling changes please let me know.
Stay well and I look forward to catching up with everyone very soon as we begin our
march towards Finals success.
GO BEARS,
DAN
