Last game Wrap up by Macca.
Deepdene Bear ”C” Vets all out 130 off 33 over's Def by Vermont 4 /165 c.c off 36 over's.
In summary, well not so close and yet so far, as we were out bowled and out batted by last year’s Premiers.
Watty lost the toss and explained we actually " won it" as he was going to bowl. Both opening bowlers Greg Sebire 1/11 off 6 over's and Aussie Pete Douglas ( who was later injured) put the pressure on them from the start, then being ably supported by Philip MacIsaac 1/14 off 4, Greg Fisher 1/20 off 4, & Andrew Watt 1/21 off 4 however Vermont built a winning total of 165 off 36 over's.
Watty’s pep talk at the half way mark, indicated that we required results from our key batsman as our bowling and fielding were not up to our usual standards. We finished our innings with 130 off the 33 over's with the main contributors being, Grant McCrae 40 Ret. & Greg Fisher 25 with little support from the rest.
We can only all now look to the future season in 20010/2011 as we are not in the finals.
Many thanks to Col Walker ( "COS") and Tim Norton (El Presidente) for their support and efforts throughout the season and our respective Captains .

My thanks goes to all the players and supporters for the season, my spies tell me that Canterbury defeated Park Orchards, so the Final 4 in Vets C Grade is Super Kings, Mont Albert, Canterbury & Vermont. Good luck to these teams in the finals.
See you at the Auction Night. 27th Feb.
