Parso polled 17 votes 5 ahead of second place.

Parso also took out the competition batting averages and was named as opening batsman in the turf team of the year. He ended the year with 750 runs and 35 wickets.

Also congratulations must go to Matt Wilson who made the turf team of the year as keeper. 25 catches and 3 stumpings was a remarkable effort."

Anonymous writes "Congratulations to East Doncaster Cricket Club in taking out the big one in Dunstan Shield (as well as C grade).

We also look forward to the return of our geographical neigbours to Dunstan next year with North Balwyn edging out Canterbury in the A grade final.

We'd like to extend our thanks to the ECA administrators and umpires at the culmination of another great year of cricket in the leafy eastern suburbs. We also acknowledge the efforts of local government administrators (especially our municipality of Boroondara) in keeping turf and synthetic cricket alive through a shocking drought.

1st XI News Semi Final Match Report
Posted by tim_norton on Monday, 09 March 2009 (19:03:05) (169 reads)

Anonymous writes "Dans match report...

Saturday Day 1 washed out.

Sunday Day 2
We lost the toss and were asked to bat on a wicket that had plenty in it and was seriously under prepared.
We worked our backsides off on very difficult wicket that had the ball jagging and jumping. 223 from our 80 was a tremendous effort. Lots of good contributions.

Day 3
Good conditions.
At one stage we had Hawthorn 6 for 70 and the game was there for our takings. Partnerships started and got the game back in Hawthorns balance before we took another 2 quick wickets and Hawthorn were 9-175 requiring 47. Somehow due to some great hitting and a Captains knock that contained lots of good fortune Hawthorn were able to win the game.

At the moment I am still a little numb and not sure what to think.

Thanks to Tim and Ctee for the support throughout the season.
Garry Wilson thank you for your help.
To the whole club, friends and relos that gave up the long weekend to support us thanks and Sorry we didn’t get the job done.
